Disability Discrimination Act 1995
The
Disability Discrimination Act 1995 makes it illegal to discriminate against disabled people by failing to make reasonable adjustments to the structure and facilities of service premises so that physical barriers are overcome.
"Hearing is one of those barriers."
The Sound Workshop have been working alongside companies who are fulfilling their legal requirements to assist customers who are hearing impaired.
Induction Loop Systems
What is an Induction Loop System?
An induction loop system helps deaf people who use a hearing aid, to hear sounds more clearly by reducing or cutting out background noise.
They are commonly used in the home, churches, shop counters, banks, theatres, cinemas, hotel reception areas, council chambers, conference and meeting rooms, schools and learning centres.
At The Sound Workshop we understand the importance of being able to hear. Our technical division have over 25 years experience in designing and installing loop systems.
We are authorised suppliers and installers of professional Induction Loop Systems.

Infrared Systems
What is an Infra-red System?
An infra-red system consists of a transmitter and a listening receiver. Sound is fed to the transmitter either by a direct electrical connection or via a microphone. It is then transmitted to you as invisable infra-red light.
Infra-red systems are prefered in environments where information is highly confidential. An infra-red system will not spill sound over into other rooms.
We are authorised suppliers and installers of professional Infra-red Systems.
